Adam Hopkins is Managing Director and Deputy General Counsel of Mizuho Americas LLC. Adam joined Mizuho in 2010 and previously served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for the firm`s global swap business. Adam currently leads the legal team responsible for capital markets, including equity and debt markets, futures, equities and fixed income. He is also responsible for assessing the impact of banking regulation on Mizuho`s U.S. bank holding company. Prior to joining Mizuho, Adam served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for an SEC-registered investment advisor. I lead a team of lawyers and support staff who advise the Capital Markets team on a wide range of sales and trading, research, banking and regulatory matters. Our team works with all parts of the business to develop targets based on a rapidly changing national and international regulatory environment. Therefore, working across products and disciplines is a skill I have been able to improve at Mizuho and work on every day.
